Autoresponder
Send an instant acknowledgement to whoever filled in your form.
Autoresponders are part of Pro and Business. On the free plan the settings are there but no reply goes out.
Write the reply once in your form settings and it goes out automatically on every genuine submission. Messages flagged as spam never trigger an autoresponse, so bots do not get free mail out of your account.
How the recipient is chosen
We use the replyto field if you send one, otherwise the first field that looks like an email address — email, e-mail, your-email, and similar. If no address can be found, the autoresponse is skipped and the notification to you still goes out.
Good acknowledgements
- Confirm what was received, briefly.
- Say when a human will reply, honestly.
- Give an alternative channel for anything urgent.
- Keep it plain text in tone — this is a receipt, not a newsletter.
